"Our family’s State Farm agent for over two decades passed away, and our file was automatically transferred to Jamie Pelzer. Without burying the lead, I wouldn’t wish Jamie Pelzer on my worst enemy. Our premiums rapidly increased immediately upon transfer. When we asked Jamie for an explanation, she was elusive. When we finally worked through all of her staff to finally speak with her, she was rude, curt, condescending, and beyond disrespectful. She truly brought out the worst in me. We should have known then to switch agents. Hurricane Helene caused catastrophic damage to our home last night, which included a complete flooding of both of our cars. I woke up this morning to three of my neighbors stating that they spoke with their State Farm agents, all of whom’s agent’s took down information and documentation and filed the claim on behalf of their clients (letting them focus on their families and the cleanup effort). My wife called Jamie and asked for assistance, as we are holed up on our second floor with no AC and a 13 month old baby in arm. Jamie flippantly directed my wife to just “file it online” and didn’t give her the time of day or care. Livid by the situation, I called Jamie to discuss. Jamie accused my wife of lying, specifically in that Jamie told me that she offered to compile photos and make the claim for my wife. When I told her I did not believe her, my wife simply doesn’t behave like this, Jamie then pivoted and stated she received an email directing her to tell her clients to file on an app or online. Of course, the logic doesn’t follow between those two completely different statements as to what occurred. Jamie obviously did not attempt to help out my wife in a dire situation, she merely claimed to have done so after I raised the issue (on brand given my first interaction with her months ago). Jamie then continually yelled at me to “stop” over the phone, and I concluded that nothing productive can further come from any interaction with her. We will be filing the claim on our own, switching agents as soon as possible, and wish nobody else has to go through an experience in a time of need like we have with Jamie Pelzer. Our experience with her has been nothing short of perennial obfuscation, lack of accountability, deception, and an experience that is more parallel to what we have been told about cut rate insurance policies. Like a horrific neighbor, Jamie Pelzer is not there and couldn’t care less. From a regular day to most turbulent experience of our lives, at least Jamie is consistent."

"Just to confirm your response. Sending a paper mail through USPS each year is your idea of good service??? I think that proved my point. Like a BAD neighbor, State Farm is WRONG! I am writing about a past situation here as I just had another BAD experience with a different agent in Tampa - Jamie Pelzer Agency. Nick Calo State Farm Aurora, IL We had a term-life policy for the lender to a business we launched. We sold it so I requested for Nick to convert half of the term-life into a whole life plan for my husband. He converted the plan into a whole life plan for the lender. When I asked him about it, he stated that he was not paying enough attention because his wife was going through cancer treatment. Now, I am a 2-time cancer survivor and I never allowed my personal situation to impact my work. If I was not feeling myself, I would take time off so as not to screw with anyone's money. That was not a satisfactory response so I escalated. The response from corporate was that I should have been more specific about wanting a personal whole life policy. Who in this entire world would want to provide a whole life policy to benefit a previous lender or any lender??? Jamie Pelzer - Tampa Agency Now, I took a loan against my life insurance policy in 2014 (ten years ago). I have all of my bills set as auto-pay. I happened to notice that my payments were still including the loan payment so I reached out to The Jaime Pelzer regarding this and was told that I am now, only paying interest and that my balance was still basically the same. I was very confused because I never received anything about interest payments. She said, we send annual notices. What ever happened to customer service??? No one seems to have any pride in their work. No one thought, hey this is a 10 year old loan, why don't I shoot her an email (or call) to check in on the situation. That is what I used to do when I was in a customer facing customer service type role. If that had happened EVER in the past 10 years, I would have taken action. Now, my action is to leave every aspect of State Farm. Nick Calo agency made me move my auto and home insurance. Now, the agent Jaime Pelzer is making me move my life insurance, which I had for 40 years. My mom was very pro-active with getting our policies at a very young age. State Farm, you are gross."
